• Hardly time to breathe and someone in an orange shirt has a catch already!
• Great start by Guptill, looking solid
• McCullum gone noooooooooo!!  Reckless shot but thats how he plays, time for Williamson to steady the ship - 32/1 after 5 overs
• So stats say we win a large percentage of games if we make more than 50 runs in the first powerplay.  Also say we win 91% of games if we score 270+ batting first.  Another interesting stat is that we win everytime Corey Anderson scores 30+.   Let's see how we go with those today.......

• Windies burn their review after a LBW was given not out. Just clipping so umpires call.  Thought it was a bit of a waste given the angle of left arm around.

• Anderson gone for 15.  278/4 in the 44th - we are on for 350 at this rate
• 300 hundred up in the 45th. Guppy on 188 - go boy!
• 200 FOR GUPTILL!!!!!!!! Unbelievable!!!  What a legend!
• 393/6 what a performance! Guptill unbeaten on 237.  Surely will win this from here

Highlanders vs Hurricanes

This  shapes up as the match of the year thus far.

Both teams in form and like to throw the ball around.

The Canes have drifted into slight favouritism on the TAB but I'm picking a 3 point victory to the  Highlanders.

It's a great time to be a sports fan

I can't think of a time in recent memory where it's been so good to be sports fan in New Zealand.

The All Blacks hold every trophy imaginable, the Breakers have won the NBL, the Black Caps have been on fire for the last 18 months and the Phoenix are leading the A League - unbelievable!

That's not to mention having Stephen Adams in the NBA and his sister Valerie dominating the world of shot put, our rowers kicking arse, our cyclists bringing home a haul of medals from the world championship and we have two golfers on the US PGA tour.

I'm loving it!
