Northern Districts 19-year-old Kane Williamson has been included in the New Zealand cricket team to contest the second test against Australia in Hamilton this week.
Good to see this very promising talent called into the Blackcaps. Sure he is young but with 19 first class matches under his belt he is sporting a very good average of 48.34. He has scored 4 hundreds and 6 fifties and in my mind has done everything he can to warrant a call up.
I hope the selectors actually play him, he is quite a useful offspinner also and in Hamilton (his home ground) he could provide some real value to a team down on confidence.
