I attended the cricket at Eden Park yesterday. The absolute hammering at the hands of the Australians was bad enough but having to sit for an hour and half waiting for the second innings to start was in perfectly good playing conditions was a joke!
At worst there was a misty drizzle which judging by those exposed to the elements in the stands who remained in their seats and the players continuing to warm up on the field indicated it was not going to cause any issues. But no.... the over precious decision makers decided it was too dangerous and play was delayed.
There were thousands of people who paid good money to be provided with entertainment but for some reason the best interests of the customer (you know the person who pays the wages) are not taken into consideration. They should have started on time at 6.02pm. The full 50 overs would have been available and there would have been plenty of time to use them if required. The customer would have got value for their money rather than be short-changed once again.
They simply need to harden up and play even if conditions are not 100% perfect - that's what the public demand and that's what they should get.
