The Aussies showed us yesterday exactly how to apply yourself on a pitch that has no real demons. They are now over 300 runs ahead with two days to play. A quick look at the weather forecast doesn't provide any hope so it looks like the game will go the distance. Actually when I say it will go the distance I mean we will probably be bowled out.
At the current rate we will be chasing something in the region of 400-450 which is a mammoth task for any team batting last let alone a struggling NZ batting line up.
We need to bowl the Aussies out and quickly! Cricket can be a funny game and you never know we just might be able to do it. History suggests we wont.
As I said yesterday, the third day was critical in deciding this match. The Aussies knew this and now are in a commanding position.
Give the ball to
